Greetings, and welcome to the web site of The Elim Christian Centre, Glossop, Derbyshire, U.K. Many in the medical profession will readily bear testimony to the fact that many of the health issues that most commonly affect people are fear related. Fear can be caused by so many reasons; health, finance, family tensions, employment prospects, relationships, the list is endless. Added to this, we are living in very uncertain times, and so many people view the immediate future with great consternation. Here in the U.K., many are fearful concerning ‘BREXIT’ and the future of the nation and the prospects for their families. Global tensions seem to be on the increase with uncertainty over the future intentions of nations such as Iran and North Korea.

The Bible has much to say concerning the subject of fear and how it affects our daily lives. The phrase; ‘FEAR NOT’ is found 365 times in the pages of Scripture, one for each day of the year. Jesus, often in His dealings with people, addressed the presence of fear and broke its power in their lives bringing genuine peace and hope in the place of doubt and uncertainty.

The Psalmist David, who wrote many of the Psalms we have recorded in the Old Testament, penned some powerful words when he himself found himself in the midst of great personal danger. In the midst of his calamity, he came to a renewed understanding of the greatness and power of God, and as a result penned what can only be described as an exuberant declaration of praise:-

‘THE LORD IS MY LIGHT AND MY SALVATION SO WHY SHOULD I BE AFRAID?
THE LORD IS MY FORTRESS, PROTECTING ME FROM DANGER, SO WHY SHOULD I TREMBLE’?  (Psalm 27 V. 1- New Living Translation).

You can find this peace that David found through knowing Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour. Why not put your faith and trust in Him today and experience the peace and hope that only He can give.
